Mostaan Khakpoor is a PhD student at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Spain. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Iran, in 2016.

As part of the FITNESS project, his research focuses on centralized and decentralized operation and planning models for distribution networks, while accounting for transmission-level operation and planning. His work aims to enhance the reliability and privacy of power system expansion planning at both levels.

His research interests include power system operation and planning, reliability assessment, power system optimization, mathematical modeling, and machine learning.
