DC12-Sammy Kinga

Dc12 - sammy kinga

Sammy Kinga is an electrical engineer with a background in power systems. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology. Currently, he is a Doctoral Candidate (DC12) in the FITNESS project, hosted at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK.

His research focuses on developing decentralized, robust voltage regulation strategies for active distribution networks with high penetration of inverter-based renewable energy resource (IBRs). His work aims to optimize the coordination of the IBR’s ancillary services to support legacy voltage control devices and robustly mitigate voltage violations caused by stochastic power injections.

Sammy’s research interests span power systems optimization, renewable energy integration, and smart grid control and operation.
